Swimming at Crenshaws

Our swimming classes consist of a 30 minute class with small teacher to student rations. A typical class has two teachers to help the students have more one on one attention. Our classes are perfect for beginner swimmers learning to be comfortable in the water blowing bubbles, floating, and overall pool safety to more advanced classes working on different strokes and refining those strokes. Our indoor pool is a heated year-round with a specifically designed large shallow area great for teaching beginners while maintain a 5 foot deep lap area for more advanced swimmers. In all swim classes, students must be potty trained, no swim diapers.

Swimming Levels

Beginner

Our beginner level focuses on helping swimmers feel comfortable and confident in the water while developing essential foundational skills. Lessons include basic water movements, floating, streamline position, and proper kicking techniques. Each activity is designed to build a strong start for future swimming success.

Beginner / Intermediate

Our Beginner / Intermediate level helps swimmers build confidence as they strengthen their foundational skills and begin learning freestyle and backstroke. Lessons focus on improving technique, endurance, and independence in the water, allowing swimmers to move comfortably and safely across short distances.

Intermediate

Our advanced level focuses on refining technique and building endurance while introducing all four basic swim strokes. Swimmers continue to develop strength, coordination, and confidence in the water. Students should be able to swim the full length of the pool, approximately 40 feet, independently.

Advanced

Our advanced level is designed for swimmers who can confidently swim multiple laps on their own. Lessons focus on improving endurance, increasing speed, and advancing stroke technique. Swimmers continue to refine their skills while developing strength and efficiency in the water.
